Applications
were found for this highly effective system in a number
of oil refineries in Azerbaijan and abroad. His range of
scientific interests include questions related to
refining crude oil more thoroughly, improving the quality
of the products obtained, and the creation of new ecologically-sound technologies. Studies were initiated under his supervision for the first time in Azerbaijan in the field of hydrogen power-engineering; processes were developed for destructive isomerisation, and for low-temperature ennobling of benzene by monatomic alcohols. |

|
He was one of the first to study low-temperature photochemical activation reactions in C-C and C-H bonds in alkanes. |
||
M.I. RUSTAMOV is an active participant in international congresses, symposia and conferences. | ||
He
is Chairman of the Scientific Council for Oil Refining
and Petrochemistry within the National Academy of
Sciences of Azerbaijan, a member of scientific councils
on catalysts and on petrochemistry within the Russian
Academy of Sciences, Chairman of a specialised council
for the conferment of scientific degrees, and Professor
of the Department of Oil, Gas and Solid Fuels Refining
within the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy. M.I. RUSTAMOV has supervised six Doctors of Science and thirty Candidates of Science. He has written over 400 scientific papers, including the monograph "The Current State of Catalytic Cracking Processes and Methods to Increase their Intensity". He is the author of over 80 patents. |
